During the summer holidays a number of our primary school staff spent time On Country with Gavi Duncan from Darkinjung Aboriginal Land Council. We visited Warre Warren Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Area. This area is of national significance with a number of sites and art dated tens of thousands of years old.

This sacred cave depicts generations of markings and drawings and is surrounded by bushland in which the Darkinjung People lived in their gunyahs until the 1850s.

We are grateful to Gavi sharing his rich cultural knowledge to deepen our understanding of the connection and responsibility that all human beings have to the land upon which we live.
